MyScrapNook Software

Posted on 24. Jul, 2012 by in Create

Just found this new website for editing your photos and making quick scrapbook layouts. It’s called MyScrapNook.

It was very easy to download and install. You can create using their templates or design your own. You can share online or print at home.

You can also create cards and photo collages.  Here’s a link to the MyScrapNook YouTube video.

I like that you can login using your Facebook login and the software can find photos in your Facebook and on your computer. It’s easy to share your creation too.

As I mentioned in a previous blog, I’ve been using for client calls when we need to get more than one of us on the call at the same time.  It’s working great.

This week I noticed that it has a sync with EVERNOTE software. You can download it or just use in the browser. I haven’t done the download yet. I believe I can sync with my phone too. I’ll search for the EverNote app for Android. Read More…

You may have heard about Pinterest lately.  It’s a growing social networking website, much like Facebook, that allows everyone to share photos.

Pinterest calls itself a “Virtual Pinboard”. It’s symbol is the letter “P” on a red circle. A “pin” is an image. You can push the image or pin into your boards to save and organize your favorites. Read More…

Google Docs -> Google Drive

If you have a need to work together as a team and collaborate, I would suggest using Google Documents, or Google Docs for short.

You can login using a gmail account, and it’s easy to setup if you don’t have an account yet.

I recommend this software because you can:

  • Create & collaborate
  • See what each person is entering as they type it
  • Your documents are stored online and not lost Read More…

After working with many clients on many different types of websites, learning what methods work and more importantly, what doesn’t work, I have put together a recipe for a great website. I recently purchased Photoshop Elements ($99) for updating photos for a client website. I’m not sure yet if I love it. I’m quicker right now with MS Paint and my Nikon camera software PictureProject for cropping and resizing photos. I always want to check out what all Google+ software offers.

Here’s a list of software that you may want to check out .. Read More…

TeamViewer Software

Had a need with one of my clients to demo some software, with a few people, from a distance. We were searching for a package that would let 2 other people see my computer. I already use so we can call each other for meetings, but we needed to share the screen.  We, of course, wanted a free option. 2007 Intranet Design Award

Posted on 01. Mar, 2012 by in Consult

I was very fortunate to work with a great group of people at AEP.  In 2007, our team received an award for our design on the AEP Corporate Intranet from Nielsen Norman group.

The team was made up of graphic designers, programmers, computer network analysts, and usability analysts.

The result was a great looking, functional web design.  It consisted of company news, useful links, local weather (for a hundred locations), executive profiles, links to departmental blogs, and various other corporate information.

Cricut Craft Room

Provo Craft has many products to go with your Cricut cutting system. I recently had trouble with my Gypsy (the gameboy looking device that you load all your cartridges onto), so I started playing with the new Craft Room software. Looks like Provo Craft has completely re-done the Cricut Design Studio software with this new software. I’ve watched the online Tutorials, and so far I like what I see … Read More…
