MyScrapNook Software

Posted on 24. Jul, 2012 by in Create

Just found this new website for editing your photos and making quick scrapbook layouts. It’s called MyScrapNook.

It was very easy to download and install. You can create using their templates or design your own. You can share online or print at home.

You can also create cards and photo collages.  Here’s a link to the MyScrapNook YouTube video.

I like that you can login using your Facebook login and the software can find photos in your Facebook and on your computer. It’s easy to share your creation too.

Handy Cricut Products

I use the 12×12 cutting system called the Cricut Expression.  It’s wonderful for cutting titles, fonts, and shapes for your scrapbook layouts.

Tip: There’s a smaller 6×12 size cutter, but I recommend the larger one.  The price difference is not very much and you’ll be glad when you can cut large cutouts such as cards, boxes, and large shapes for posters and those big 3-D projects. Read More…

Scrapbook Expo

Posted on 09. Mar, 2012 by in Create

On March 23-24, 2012 the Memories Scrapbooking Expo will visit Columbus Ohio again. See the Coupon tab on their site to save $2 at the door. Better yet, go to LivingSocial for a $5 ticket or $7 two-day pass.

I recommend going on Friday, since it’s usually packed on Saturday. There’s been a few less vendors each year, but it’s worth the trip to see new scrapbook and stamping products. You can spend several hours walking around seeing everything, wear comfy shoes! Some vendors do presentations, others let you try their products.

Cricut Craft Room

Provo Craft has many products to go with your Cricut cutting system. I recently had trouble with my Gypsy (the gameboy looking device that you load all your cartridges onto), so I started playing with the new Craft Room software. Looks like Provo Craft has completely re-done the Cricut Design Studio software with this new software. I’ve watched the online Tutorials, and so far I like what I see … Read More…

Scrapbook Supplies

Posted on 02. Feb, 2012 by in Create

If you are just starting to scrapbook, here’s a few basic items that you need to start with!  Once you have your supplies, see my tips on putting your pages together.

  1. You will need a good pair of scissors for cutting small items.  I recommend a Fiskars pair that is coated to keep from getting sticky.
  2. A paper trimmer ($20).   I recommend getting one at Michael’s or JoAnn’s with your 40% off coupon.
  3. Tape runner for gluing down your pictures ($5).  We have been using Tombo Adhesives and order refills in bulk for around $2.50. Read More…

Jillibean Craft Room

Jill’s craft room

I recently had a friend contact me to organize her craft room. I was delighted to help!

Jill, local scrapbook designer, is so busy with her growing business that she needed help with her personal craft supplies.

Her space is located in her work zone of the basement.

Her scrap table was full of scrapbook product that she had bought from local scrapbook stores and also from expositions that she visits for her business.

When your scrap area is disorganized, it’s not a fun place to create. Jill didn’t have the time to organize, but knew she would use the area if everything was just put away in an easy to find fashion. Read More…
