Delicious strawberry recipe for the summer

I can remember growing up and always having this desert at every family picnic! I should be sick of it by now, but it’s a staple for any fun family outing. The kids always request it! And my fellow scrapbooking buddies!

It’s very easy to make, here’s the recipe …

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels (half the bag)
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
  • 8 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 oz. whipped topping
  • 6 oz. package of strawberry Jell-O
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 packages 10-oz. frozen strawberries

Directions

Step 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees
get 2 cups of water boiling on the stove top (in a large sauce pan)
get the mixer out for the cream cheese mixture
Step 2 to create the crust:
mix butter & sugar, then mix with pretzels on bottom of 9 x 13 pan
bake for 6-8 minutes, let cool
Step 3 for the cream layer:
beat 8 oz. cream cheese with 1 cup sugar
fold in whipped topping
spread over cooled pretzel mix
Step 4 for the top strawberry layer:
dissolve Jell-O in boiling water you started earlier
stir in frozen strawberries
let this sit for 10 minutes, strawberries will thaw in the hot water
pour on top of cream cheese mixture
let set up in refrigerator for an hour or more
