Cricut Craft Room

Provo Craft has many products to go with your Cricut cutting system. I recently had trouble with my Gypsy (the gameboy looking device that you load all your cartridges onto), so I started playing with the new Craft Room software. Looks like Provo Craft has completely re-done the Cricut Design Studio software with this new software. I’ve watched the online Tutorials, and so far I like what I see …

  • It includes some free cartridges, we like free!
  • Welding images looks easy now, when you place letters very close together, they weld be default.
  • The mat shows the yellow area where you had to be careful not to use, since it would not cut close to the edge.
  • The overlays, now on the bottom of the software, show larger than in the old CDS software.
  • You “link” your cartridges to your account, and I want to see how this is related to the linked cartridges on my Gypsy. I’m hoping this works well together.
  • You can easily purchase new cartridges down in the overlay, oh, now I see where Provo Craft is going with this.

I really like the idea of a smaller, more portable Cricut cutting system and this new software seems great, but I’m sitting here doing the math on what I’ve spent on the Expression cutting machine, Gypsy, cartridges, Design Studio software, Jukebox. Is there a trade-in package?!?
