Google Docs -> Google Drive

Posted on 29. May, 2012 by in Consult

If you have a need to work together as a team and collaborate, I would suggest using Google Documents, or Google Docs for short.

You can login using a gmail account, and it’s easy to setup if you don’t have an account yet.

I recommend this software because you can:

  • Create & collaborate
  • See what each person is entering as they type it
  • Your documents are stored online and not lost Read More…

What to Write About

Posted on 28. May, 2012 by in Develop

Last year while attending Word Camp Columbus, to learn more about Word Press, one of the speakers gave a great presentation about what to write about.  I never really thought about it, but it makes sense.  You know you want a website, you get it all setup, but then when it comes to adding content, it’s very hard to think of what to write. So, if you have a website and are looking for ideas to write about, consider the following types of information to post …

Woo Theme Shortcodes

Posted on 27. May, 2012 by in Develop

I love Woo Themes for Word Press.  I recently have been playing with their Shortcodes button.

When you are entering posts, there are many times you want more features — like columns, tables, etc. but the browser will not allow this in most HTML editors. However, using Woo Themes Shortcodes button, you can create buttons, info boxes, relate posts, contact forms, columns, tabs, lists, dividers and social buttons.

Great cake for graduation parties

Posted on 25. May, 2012 by in Organize

This cake is so easy to make with ingredients you probably have at home.  I tried to keep sugar, flour, sour cream, baking soda, and Hershey cocoa around so I can pop one of these cakes together! You know, when that chocolate craving hits!

Ordered New Business Cards

Posted on 25. May, 2012 by in Consult

I just ordered new business cards*.  It’s fun to put together an updated look! You know I had to pick a red background since my company is named “Reddin’ Up”.

I wanted to include my primary contact information — name, phone, email and website addresses. This year I included my QR code. I’m sure you have started to see these codes on everything now.

QR code refers to Quick Response Code, meaning that our lives are so busy we can’t take the time to type in a website address anymore. Read More…

I can remember growing up and always having this desert at every family picnic! I should be sick of it by now, but it’s a staple for any fun family outing. The kids always request it! And my fellow scrapbooking buddies!

Make Good Art

Posted on 24. May, 2012 by in Consult

Have you watched the Neil Gaiman Commencement Speech? He’s a writer speaking at an Arts school graduation.

It’s so inspirational, you need to watch it!  Here’s the takeaways that I got from it:

  • He didn’t attend college, became a writer making it up as he went along. Used his imagination.
  • Didn’t follow the ‘normal’ path. He created a list of everything he wanted to do in his life. And kept doing the things on his list. Read More…

Hope Loves Cards

Posted on 22. May, 2012 by in Create

I recently ordered specialized cards from the “2012 Spring Collection style of note cards” for my daughter from a fellow blogger. They are just adorable!  Britt loves purple and Kim Gosney, creator of Hope Loves Cards, created a purple selection for her when I explained Brittney was a purple lover.

Ah, I like this message!

Posted on 19. May, 2012 by in Create

As I’ve aged, I’ve become kinder to myself, and less critical of myself. I’ve become my own friend.

I have seen too many dear friends leave this world, too soon; before they understood the great freedom that comes with aging.

Whose business is it, if I choose to read, or play, on the computer, until 4 AM, or sleep until noon? I will dance with myself to those wonderful tunes of the 50, 60 &70’s, and if I, at the same time, wish to weep over a lost love, I will. Read More…

Cricut Cartridge Ideas

Posted on 24. Apr, 2012 by in Create

I love to scrapbook, and I especially love cutting scrapbook accents with my Cricut machine. Have you checked out the Cricut forums for ideas?

Sometime I forget about this as a resource for ideas.  It’s great to search for a particular cartridge and get ideas.

I recently got the Tie the Knot cartridge and I wanted to get more ideas. Just flipping thru the booklet that comes with it, you get some ideas. I was curious to find out how other scrapbookers were using it.

If you go to, and click on Messageboard, you will go to the community. You have to login and it’s very confusing on whether it’s a separate login from the Cricut site and Cricut Rewards site. Just keep track of your id and password. Read More…

Using Web Feeds, ie. RSS

Posted on 21. Apr, 2012 by in Develop

RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and it’s that little orange symbol that you see on websites. This RSS is called a feed, and it allows you to receive updated content published. A feed can contain text, pictures, audio and video. Audio content, usually in MP3 format, is referred to as podcasting.

Step 1. On your favorite websites, click on the RSS icon to to receive the content in a few different forms. To get content automatically, you subscribe to a feed.

Step 2. You will be asked to select a name for the feed, give it a name to remember the information, I usually use the name of the website.
